Accessibility statement
What we do for an accessible website, where things still fall short and how to report a barrier to us. Honestly, point by point.
Last updated:
Everyone should be able to use Fitiva: with a screen reader, with a keyboard only, zoomed in a long way or with little motion on screen. Brand Palace GmbH is working to make its website and its app do that. Here is how far we have got.
What this statement covers
It covers the website fitivapro.com: the pages for athletes and for coaches, the prices and the events, each in German and English, the blog, the glossary, Contact, Press, About us, Careers, Imprint, Privacy and Terms. The web app at app.fitivapro.com is a separate product. What is still missing there is listed below under known limitations.
We follow the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG, the German Accessibility Strengthening Act) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, which the European standard EN 301 549 also refers to.
How accessible the website is
The website is partially accessible. It fully meets most of the requirements, but not yet all of them. The exceptions are listed further down.
How we tested
With our own review on 28 September 2026, after the pages had moved to the new design:
- We measured the contrast of every visible text in the browser, on every page this statement covers.
- We went through the same pages using only the keyboard, step by step forwards and back again, and checked at every step whether you can see where you are.
- We looked at every page at 320, 360, 390, 1024 and 1440 pixels wide, also with the “Reduce motion” setting.
- For the blog and the other content pages, our build checks on every change that there is exactly one main heading, that no heading level is skipped and that every image has alt text.
What is in place
- Clear structure. Every page has one main heading, with headings below it in a logical order. Header, navigation, content and footer are marked up as regions. The first press of the Tab key takes you to “Skip to content”.
- Everything by keyboard. You reach links, buttons, the menu, the forms and the expandable questions with Tab and operate them with Enter or the space bar. The menu on your phone closes with Escape.
- The map without a mouse, too. Coaches and events on the map are named buttons that you reach with Tab and open with Enter. The coaches are also shown in a list. You operate the place search with the arrow keys, and as a coach your pin lands right on the place you choose.
- Visible focus. A strong violet outline shows where the keyboard is. The bar at the top does not cover it, not even when you go back with Shift and Tab. The exception on the events page is listed below.
- Strong contrast. Body text, headings, links and buttons reach a ratio of at least 4.5 to 1, the body text of the articles about 13 to 1. The exceptions are listed below.
- Zoom without loss. You can zoom any page up to 400 per cent. The content then reflows, and you never have to scroll sideways to read a text.
- Less motion. If you turn on “Reduce motion” on your device, the logo intro does not play, animations show their end state straight away and videos do not start on their own. The moving preview at the top of the home pages, the row of pictures on About us and the videos also have a pause button.
- Videos without sound. The short videos work without speech. Each one has a title and a sentence next to it that says what it shows.
- Images with descriptions. Every image has alt text or is marked as purely decorative, so screen readers skip it. The large recreated app screens at the top of the home pages and the sample map are also described in a text for screen readers.
- Clear forms. Every field has a visible label, and required fields are marked. Errors appear as text right at the field, the focus jumps to the first error, and the page also tells you through your screen reader whether your message has arrived.
- The right language. Every page is marked up with its language, so screen readers read it out correctly. The pages for athletes and coaches are available in German and English. You switch language with the flag at the top or the language link at the very bottom of every page.
Known limitations
These parts do not meet the requirements yet. We are working to fix them.
- Small grey notes on the home pages. On the pages for athletes and coaches, some small grey notes, for example below the prices and at the events, only reach about 2.6 to 1 instead of 4.5 to 1. On all other pages we have already made such notes, the placeholders and the borders of the form fields darker.
- Sample screens. The recreated app screens on the home pages use made-up data to show what Fitiva looks like. Some initials and times in them are small and low in contrast. What they show is described in the text next to them.
- Moving examples without a pause button. Some examples on the home pages, such as the event flyer, loop for as long as you can see them, and the sports change on their own until you pick one. They do not have a pause button of their own yet. With “Reduce motion” they stand still.
- The events page. The events map does not yet show an outline when you reach it with the keyboard, and in the list a day heading can partly cover the focus when you go back with Shift and Tab. Every event is also in the list, which you can operate entirely with the keyboard.
- Videos without a text version. The videos have a title and a short description, but no detailed text version, scene by scene, yet.
- Only in German. The blog is so far only available in German.
- Older pages. Some pages that have not yet moved to the new design have not been tested to this standard. We will either move them to the new design or take them offline.
- The web app. We keep developing app.fitivapro.com. Some views do not fully meet the requirements yet. We are working on it and prioritise views we receive reports about.
Report a barrier
If you come across a barrier on fitivapro.com or in the app, or need content in a different format, write to us. We can help fastest if you tell us which page it was on, what you wanted to do and how you get around, for example with a screen reader, with a keyboard only or with zoom.
We reply to you personally, usually within one working day, and tell you by when we will remove the barrier. If you need content in a different format, for example as plain text, we will send it to you.
