Vienna counts 233,334 Alpenverein members, almost a third of the total. Tyrol follows with 114,733.

With 748,046 members, the Alpenverein has more than the federations for football, tennis and skiing combined: 627,351.

Between the ages of 6 and 15, around one boy in two is a member of a sports club. For girls it is around 40%.

Common questions from Austria

Does Fitiva cost the same in Austria as in Germany?

Yes. For athletes Fitiva is free, Ava included. At the launch price, Premium costs €2.99 a month or €28.70 a year, incl. VAT, and it stays that way for everyone who starts by 31 December 2026. New subscriptions from 1 January 2027 cost €4.99 a month or €47.90 a year, incl. VAT.

Are there personal trainers in Vienna, Graz or Innsbruck?

You see who coaches near you on the map in the app, with the price in their profile before you book. At launch there are coaches and events in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, with no promise for individual cities.

Can I join as a trainer from Austria?

Yes. When you sign up you choose Austria as your country, and your Stripe payout account is then opened in Austria. The country can't be changed later. The pin on the map comes with Free, for €0.

Can I pay my coach in cash?

Yes, if your coach offers payment in person. Otherwise you pay online by card. There is no surcharge either way.

Do I need an app from the App Store?

No. Fitiva runs in the browser at app.fitivapro.com, on your phone and on your computer. On your phone you add it to your home screen, and then it opens like an app.
